Membership Benefits
Since the 2012-2013 school year, the UC Davis chapter of BMES has two options for membership: Local and National.
In the past, national members that wanted to be a part of the UC Davis chapter had to pay both local and national fees. Currently, members only need to pay for one.
Local Membership Benefits ($15 annual membership fee)
National Membership Benefits ($30 annual membership fee)
Other notes
Due to legal reasons, only National Members may describe membership as “Biomedical Engineering Society” on their resumes. Local members may use “Biomedical Engineering Club”.
BMES at UC Davis cannot provide refund of membership dues.
How to Register
Membership applications can be turned in at any BMES event throughout the year. Students may not sign up for BMES events until they have submitted an application. For further questions and concerns about registration time and details, please email [email protected]

- Free access to all events hosted by the UC Davis chapter of BMES such as research fairs, industry tours, special speakers, and bowling night.
- Priority registration to professional development events. Sign-ups for events such as Lunch with Faculty or Industry Tours are first open to members.
- Mentor-Mentee program.
- Members may participate as writers for our monthly newsletter.
- Reduces t-shirt price ($10.00).
National Membership Benefits ($30 annual membership fee)
- ALL local membership benefits.
- Any benefits given by National BMES. This includes:
- Free journal subscriptions.
- Discount on the annual meeting.
- Opportunities to publish and present research.
- Career services and online job board.
- Access to all members of the society.
- Access to BMES awards.
